This year the West End Festival will take place between Friday 3 rd of June and Sunday 26 th June. Whether its music, meditation, kids activities, walking, talks, beer tasting or pretty much anything else, there is something for everyone.
So far we have been lucky to have such excellent weather and long may it continue as we experience all that the festival has to offer.
With so much going on choosing the highlights for this weekend was not easy. Here are my top picks for what to get involved in this weekend – Saturday 11 th June and Sunday 12 th June at the West End Festival 2016:
16 th Japanese Matsuri – Wellington church 1pm
A true Japanese experience followed by performances this sounds like a great day for the family. Take part in origami practice, Japanese calligraphy, kimono wearing and much more. Performances are from 2.30 including Japanese drumming.

Brahms: Ein Deutsches Requiem – Kelvinside Hillhead Church 7.30pm
Tickets – £10, £8 concession available to purchase at the door from 7pm
Scottish Chamber choir Coroedina make their debut at the West End Festival. A rare opportunity not to be missed.
Mad Hatter’s Family Tea Party – Grosvenor Cinema 10.30am
Tickets – £12 adults, £8 Children
With the new release of Alice Through the looking glass the Grosvenor cinema are celebrating in style with the screening of the movie followed by a tea party held in the café which is sure to be a fun filled experience.
Outdoor ceilidh at Kelvingrove – Kelvingrove Art Gallery 2pm
Glasgow Fiddle Workshop bring this annual event to us. An opportunity to let loose and dance away with friends and family. This is a highlighted event of the WEF 2016. Featuring an amazing band with some of the best musicians in Scotland. Not to be missed.
